Duelists

I am an insect crawling on the ceiling, observing in awe.

I feel the rush of violence beat against my face, and hear great dashing steps. I stare intently into the dark, straining my wide eyes to see.
Out of the blackness, with indiscernible speed, weapons flash; they clash with such violence they ignite my world, and shake my soul – I stir, as if to flee, but I cannot remove my gaze from this battle. The flash illuminates great grey faces, filled with rage, breathing heavily.
They are the faces of great duelists, engaged in a battle that has raged for the length of history, only moving across worlds, the violence waning, and gaining intensity, leaving destruction and chaos in their wake.
They hypnotize me, terrify me, inspire me.

First-fruits

Left: Kodak Motormatic, circa 1954. Right: Argus C3 Rangefinder, produced 1939 - 1966
All of the following photos were taken with the Argus shown above, except the two of the turntable, which were taken with the Motormatic.
Focus with the Rangefinder is rather tricky, because the range finder and lens are not perfectly in sync, and the viewfinder and lens are not lined-up either. Focus with the Motormatic is absolutely terrible, because there is no real way of telling what the picture will look like – as Josh says, "it's a point-and-pray."
There has been quite a learning curve with the Argus, including learning the correct method of advancing the film. Some of the shots that are multiple exposures are accidental, some are intentional. I'll let you decide which are which.
The full sized shots can be found at the link below, and I'll be adding full descriptions to each soon.
