First-fruits

Left: Kodak Motormatic, circa 1954. Right: Argus C3 Rangefinder, produced 1939 - 1966
All of the following photos were taken with the Argus shown above, except the two of the turntable, which were taken with the Motormatic.
Focus with the Rangefinder is rather tricky, because the range finder and lens are not perfectly in sync, and the viewfinder and lens are not lined-up either. Focus with the Motormatic is absolutely terrible, because there is no real way of telling what the picture will look like – as Josh says, "it's a point-and-pray."
There has been quite a learning curve with the Argus, including learning the correct method of advancing the film. Some of the shots that are multiple exposures are accidental, some are intentional. I'll let you decide which are which.
The full sized shots can be found at the link below, and I'll be adding full descriptions to each soon.

  1. Wow, great pictures, nice vignette on some of those.

  2. I like that you include photos of some things that aren't photographed often, like the steel ladder and the photos with concrete and run down buildings in them. I like how you find something in those things, because I really do appreciate what might be called "industrial beauty", the crane for example, some would call it an eyesore, but I appreciate it for it's hardness, it's rugged usefulness (like many industrial things).
